# Stockbee Episodic Pivot Methodology

An Episodic Pivot (EP) is a price/volume revaluation event triggered by a discrete catalyst. The Stockbee-style interpretation emphasizes Day 1 recognition: a large unexpected event causes participants to rapidly reprice a stock, often creating a multi-day or multi-week drift.

## EP Families

| EP Type | Typical Catalyst | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| `EARNINGS_EP` | Earnings beat, sales/EPS acceleration | Strongest when it is the first major acceleration or a beat-and-raise |
| `GUIDANCE_EP` | Guidance raise or business inflection | Often higher quality than a simple quarterly beat |
| `FDA_EP` | FDA approval, Phase 3 success, PDUFA event | High gap risk; require liquidity and risk control |
| `M_AND_A_EP` | Merger, acquisition, buyout, takeover | Often one-day repricing; upside may be capped by deal terms |
| `CONTRACT_EP` | Large contract/order/customer win | Quality depends on size relative to company revenue |
| `PARTNERSHIP_EP` | Strategic partnership/collaboration | Stronger when partner is credible and commercial impact is clear |
| `ANALYST_EP` | Upgrade, initiation, target raise | Usually lower quality unless it confirms a larger theme |
| `PRODUCT_EP` | Product launch/commercialization | Needs evidence of demand or adoption |
| `STORY_EP` | AI, crypto, nuclear, space, robotics, EV, defense, etc. | Can move fast but often has lower fundamental confirmation |
| `SQUEEZE_EP` | Short squeeze or float squeeze | Treat as high-risk; prioritize liquidity and fast review |

## Day 1 Quality Checklist

A strong Day 1 EP should have most of the following:

- Discrete catalyst that can change market perception
- Price gap or same-day move of at least 4%
- Volume shock, ideally 3x+ average volume or 9M+ absolute shares
- Close in the upper part of the daily range
- Risk to EP-day low small enough to size responsibly
- Prior stock was neglected, basing, or not already extremely extended
- Liquidity is sufficient for realistic entry and exit

## What This Skill Does Not Do

This skill does not decide whether to buy. It ranks and classifies candidates. Before any trade decision, pass candidates through manual catalyst review, chart validation, and risk-based position sizing.

## State Interpretation

- `ACTIONABLE_DAY1`: Strong catalyst and price/volume confirmation with manageable risk.
- `DAY1_WATCH`: Good EP candidate, but needs chart/context confirmation.
- `DELAYED_EP_WATCH`: The event is strong but Day 1 risk or close quality is not acceptable; wait for a new base/pullback.
- `CATALYST_WATCH`: Catalyst may matter but the price/volume reaction is not confirmed.
- `REJECT`: Weak event, weak reaction, low quality, or poor tradability.
