A skill, in use.

A portable Claude skill that turns the model into a senior designer — grounded in real context, committed to a visual system, refusing to make AI-slop.

01 / What it installs

Claude Design is a SKILL.md plus a handful of on-demand references. Claude loads it when your request sounds like a design task — "make a deck", "mock up a Linear-style dashboard", "design me something nice".

Once loaded, it rewires Claude's defaults. Fact verification before assumption. Real brand assets before colours and fonts. Differentiated directions before commitment.

02 / Operating principles

Three rules, in order of priority.

  1. 01 / Priority Zero

    Verify facts before assuming.

When a specific product is named, WebSearch comes before design. A 10-second search beats 1–2 hours of rework on a wrong premise.

    Non-negotiable
  2. 02 / Asset Protocol

    Ask · search · download · verify · freeze.

Logo, product shots, UI screenshots are first-class citizens. Colors and fonts are auxiliary. Skipping the first three is how agents produce generic tech design.

    For branded work
  3. 03 / Direction Advisor

    Three directions, then commit.

When the brief is too vague to execute, propose three directions from ten philosophies across five schools. Wait for the user to choose. Then commit fully.
